Part-time Research Officer (Physiotherapy) Ref:J00/437
A part-time physiotherapist (50% time for two years) is required in support
of a joint research project between the Physiotherapy Department, Musgrave
Park Hospital and the Rehabilitation Sciences Research Group at the
University of Ulster. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary
research team, with an international reputation. This post is funded by the
Wellcome Trust. The applicant will be working on a project to investigate
the effectiveness of two forms of electrical stimulation for strengthening
in children with cerebral palsy. This is an opportunity to develop both
research and clinical skills in the area of paediatrics. The applicant will
be required to collect and analyse the data and present the findings at an
appropriate conference. Training in electrical stimulation will be provided.
Applicants must be chartered physiotherapists and have a minimum of two
years full-time clinical experience. Paediatric clinical experience and/or
experience in isokinetic testing is desirable. Secondment from the
applicant's current health trust is possible for this post.
Salary : 50% of £16,775 - £21,435 per annum
