Response to 14 Sept. message of Melanie Barker asking for ideas for lessons
on training.
Here is a suggestion which may be of interest to all business educators. It
stems from my work with the training department of a large US company
(Fortune 300 size).
One trainer with twelve years experience wrote that he had never heard of
another survey "that could so easily inform a class as to what kind of
person they are." 28% of the multi-branch employers surveyed indicated they
would pay a higher wage to those who score well in the survey - and that
fact definitely boosts student interest!
Full details, including survey forms you can download, are at
http://SQ.4mg.com The survey approach is welcomed by leading psychology
professors and self-esteem experts. In addition to their comments, the
website has full research data and instructions for administering the
survey.
The survey offers an excellent break from classroom routines, fosters
discussions on dealing with others, and can actually help students when they
look for a job.
I would be happy to answer any questions from those who have checked out my
website. But let me suggest that you e-mail me directly at
