Our students will sit the January papers for AS Business Studies (OCR) and
also for AS Economics (EdExcel). My feeling is that the early timing of
these exams might be partly offset by the dilution of the old A-level
course. For the AS Economics, we hope most of our studnets will be able to
secure a reasonable grade and, of course, by sitting in January ans also in
June they have two bites of the cherry for the first Module.

We are taking the AQA Business Studies course and are entering students for
the first module in January. For us, the disadvantages of taking 9 -12
exams in June outweigh the worries about taking the first module earlier
than has previouly been the case. Hopefully the fact that the standard of
AS is not at the full A Level standard will compensate. We shall soon find
out!
