LECTURE BY SIR ANDREW WOOD
You are invited to attend a lecture on Tuesday 26 September at the
Britain-Russia Centre, 1 Nine Elms Lane, London SW8 5NQ
“Putin’s Russia”
by Sir Andrew Wood GCMG
Ambassador to Russian Federation, 1995 - 2000
Sir Andrew Wood left his post as Ambassador to the Russian Federation in
January 2000 and has a great deal to report on his exciting and turbulent
time in office. He still travels there regularly and in this timely talk
will assess the current situation in Russia and the triumphs and tragedies
of Putin’s first six months as President.
Sir Andrew was first posted to the British Embassy in Moscow in the mid
1960s. He has also been Ambassador to Belgrade before the break-up of
Yugoslavia. He is now senior adviser to Ernst and Young, and a member of the
Executive Council of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce.
The talk is at 5.45pm for 6.30pm (talk starts at 6.30pm). Refreshments are
available before the talk. If you would like to attend, please contact
Centre staff at the address below. Should we not hear from you by Friday 15
September, we will telephone you to find out whether you can attend.
