* Enhancing Group-based Learning *

* Workshop at ALT-C, Wednesday 13th September 2000 *

This workshop, run by the TLTP3 ASTER Project, focuses on enhancing
group-based learning, particularly through the use of C&IT. Topics covered
will include:
- making the most of small-group or group-based learning: reflecting on
current practice and the implications of change;
- an overview of the variety of C&IT tools and resources available;
- presentation of case studies illustrating the use of C&IT in different
discipline areas including Psychology, Physics and subjects within the
Humanities;
- consideration of the differences in tradition and practice between
discipline areas;
- use of reflective tools to support staff in considering changes to group
teaching practice and in assessing alternative C&IT options;
- sharing of expertise and experiences amongst delegates.
The target audiences for this workshop are support staff (for example staff
and educational developers, LTSN support staff) and lecturers who wish to
find out more about, and explore issues in, innovative practice in the use
of C&IT for group-based learning.
