Dear Colleagues,
I thought the following information may be of use (though I
appreciate that some of you will already know the details):
Granta publishers are at present negotiating the rights to publish
various Sciascia texts in translation. Those scheduled for 2001 are
'The Wine-Dark Sea' (April) and 'The Day of the Owl' (May). They are
also looking at the possibilty of publishing 'Sicilian Uncles' and
'Equal Danger', though no dates have been set for these. Carcanet
used to publish some of these, but it looks as if they may only have
'To Each His Own' and 'The Council of Egypt' on their books now.
best wishes, Pauline Small
