Royal King's Arms Hotel, Lancaster
The focus for the training event will be what makes evaluation a distinctive
experience within social science research. Using an active approach, the
course providers will build on your research training by introducing you to
the range of practices, values and protocols associated with evaluation.

Training activities
There will be presentations and group discussions during the workshop.
Presenters will be members of the UK Evaluation Society Council who have
national and international reputations in their fields. The programme will
cover a range of evaluation contexts including social policy and education.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange
experience through the examination of cases.
Keynote presentations will be on

Themes addressed in the training event will include differences in audience,
purposes, use, method, ethics and theory in evaluation and research
practice.
