We are in the process of installing a modest Document Management 
System, including an element of OCR to database capture.  

The initial purpose is to replace the manilla folders we (in the 
Academic Office) at present keep for all students.  It will also assist 
with the collection of some new data items for insertion in the 
Student Record.

There are, of course, many other candidate tasks for inclusion but 
I feel the above to be sufficient for this October :-)  

We have purchased TeleForm (from Cardiff Software) for the 
OCR/ICR part of the task and TokOpen (from Tokairo Ltd) for the 
actual DMS part of the system.  Both products (and the scanner) 
were supplied and system integrated/supported by Capital Capture.  
I'm grateful to various people on the list for corresponding with me 
and sharing their experience of these and other products/firms.  

I wonder if any other users of these products think that a list (or 
lists) to act as a user group mailing list might be helpful?

If there is any significant interest in such lists, I will volunteer to act 
as list owner, as least initially.

If those interested would care to let me (as opposed to this list 
generally) know, we can assess the position.
