Hi
This may be of interest to someone (mor edetailed information will be
available). Please respond to the address at the bottom of the
message:
RESEARCH POST :- DEAF PEOPLE AND MENTAL HEALTH
SERVICES IN LEEDS
To find out information about what the services are for deaf and hard
of hearing people with mental health problems in the Leeds area and
find out what the gaps and barriers are.
The aims of the post :-
to find out the gaps and barriers in service provision.
to find out if the communication between service provision and
service users is effective.
to find out what level of sign language people have who work in the
service provision to be able to communicate with Deaf people with
British Sign Language
to find out what service provision is available to hearing people (non
deaf) and see what the differences are.
identify what services are available for deaf and hard of hearing
people in the Leeds area and compare this to other areas.
to identify the access issues for deaf and hard of hearing people in
service provision.
to find out if information leaflets or booklets are accessible.
This is only a rough idea to give you background information in order
to evaluate if you would know of anyone who would be suitable to
carry out this research.
The funding for the post in terms of a fee would only be around
£6,000 with a additional £4,000 to cover interpreters fees, materials
and other equipment etc… and would therefore only be a short term
post, possibly 6 months or so.
