Vince here:
Jim: I can migrate material from Amstrad PCW to MSDOS/Windows/Mac. What
sort of material is it? If it's mainly word processing material in one of
the versions of Locoscript or NuWord, that won't be a problem (unless, of
course, the discs are corrupted - I don't have access to low-level CP/M
readers for damaged discs, although I can do some software retreival if the
damage is not too bad). However, remember that these old steam computers
ran CP/M, so any executable files simply aren't tranferable (and I would
have some problems with spreadsheets). The other thing is - they *are* PCW
disks? remember, one or two others ran the 3" 'stiffy' disks, like the
Sinclair Spectrum ZX+3.
Contact me off-list (don't want to bore everyone else!) at
[log in to unmask], and let me know some details.
If anybody else is wondering why I am such a sad bastard as to be able to
do this, well, it occurred to me about 10 years ago that exactly this
situation would arise. And if anyone has a working ZX80, I'd be happy to
give it a loving home...
And remember everyones duty to data - migrate, migrate, migrate...
