CAVA
'Care, Values and the Future of Welfare'
Postgraduate Studentships
Applications are invited for postgraduate studentships attached to
the ESRC Research Group for the Study of Care, Values and the
Future of Welfare (CAVA), based in the Department of
Sociology and Social Policy. CAVA is an innovative and
interdisciplinary research programme on the implications of
changes in parenting and partnering for future social policies. The
aim is to produce a new framework of values to underpin these
areas of policy and provision.
The Studentships
The University has allocated funds to Cava to support two
research studentships from 2000. The studentships will be
supported to the same extent as a basic ESRC maintenance grant
and will include the same amount normally allowable for research
expenses. It will be possible for students to do work linked with
one or more of our ongoing research projects.
We encourage applicants from a wide range of disciplines: social
