This millennium event, co-sponsored by Critical Social Policy and the Social
Policy Association, with the support of Cambridge University Press and Sage
Publications, aims to stimulate a wide-ranging discussion of New Labour's
social policy agenda and explore alternative futures.
Speakers include Ruth Lister, Ann Phoenix, Ruth Levitas, Fiona Williams,
Peter Beresford and New Labour spokespersons.
Workshop themes will include New Labour and immigration and asylum seekers,
urban regeneration, the third way, poverty, parenting, older people, women,
the NHS, devolution, housing, disability, social exclusion, youth and crime,
mental distress, education, etc., etc.
