The Kipling Conference in Sep 2001 occurs on the centenary of the
publication of Kim. Kim's gGme has been used by scouts and wolf cubs and I
am looking to see if a paper relating Kippling to Baden Powell and scouting
movement could be offered.. In Land and Sea Tales for Scouts and Gides,
Kipling referrs to himself as a Commissioner but I have not myself been
able to get from the scouting movement any confirmation of dates.
What is the historical record and what is the lasting influlence of Kipling
on the movement in particular and on children in general?
Offers or suggestions of an author for this area would be welcome.
