Dear list members,

Despite (or because of?) Bill's reference to my 'wisdom', I would like to
propose the structure and content of this message as a model to all list
members. Notice that instead of copying all of Cyprian's message in his
reply, Bill only copied the part that was relevant to his comments. Bravo,
Bill!
It is difficult, for purely technical reasons, to propose a precise length
limit for communications. I would suggest that members seek, whenever
possible and appropriate, brevity in their messages; and if there is any
doubt about the message being a long one, then one should note something
like 'LONG MSG' in the header.
And I do accept Bill's suggestion about warning potential or new members
about the volume of mail they may receive on medieval-religion. I'll include
this in my revisions to our amazing and new list introduction, which is
always at your disposal by checking the copy you printed and carry with you
at all times -- :-)))))))!!! -- or going to the web at:
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/cgi-bin/intro?medieval-religion
Remember: attachments bad; scholarly, thoughtful, helpful messages good
Remember also: humour or expression of personal taste, as a tiny part of a
message, may be good from time to time; such matters as the major part of a
message are probably not good at any time
With all good wishes,
George
