PORT: Maritime Information Gateway Manager

The Centre for Maritime Research is responsible for promoting an understanding of the NMM's extensive collections. PORT is the UK's premier Information Gateway to maritime resources within the CMR.
PORT employs ROADS software. Candidates must have experience in Internet service provision with a well-developed technology skills base across a range of information systems. Knowledge of the maritime community and/or experience in a commercial environment, though not necessary, would be an advantage.
In addition to managing the day-to-day development of PORT, the successful candidate will also be involved in developing future strategy for the Gateway and the integrated delivery of other electronic information projects. The post holder will need to be able to deliver customer- focussed services to a demanding public.
This is a challenging post with scope for initiative and personal development. It would suit a talented, highly motivated information professional with a minimum of three years' experience in a related field.
A flexible attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. The post holder must also be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Salary band: £16,840-£25,550, depending on experience.
