Given the recent (misguided) comments on the issue if you would like to
learn more about ethnomethodology, there are two conferences taking place
next year which might be of interest.
There is an international conference taking place at MMU sometime in 2001.
The title of this is "Orders of Ordinary Action" and further details can be
obtained from Dave Francis at

There will also be a conference on workplace studies at MMU on 27th
October. This will discuss the fastest growing area of
ethnomethodological work on human-computer interaction and computer
supported co-operative work. Further details and/or abstracts can be send to
David Calvey (e-mail details below)
I'm forwarding the call for papers for this last one.
