Hi
My name is Wendy LeBreton and I've been on this list since I wrote a
short 'thesis' last year on how the growth of Industrial Ecology has been
somewhat impeeded by such things as transaction costs. I learned a lot from
writing that paper, particularly how I would like to pursue further studies
in this field, following the completion of my undergraduate degree in
ecology/environmental biology.
I have begun 'web surfing' and looking at various post-grad schools
around the world, where I might be interested in doing my masters. My main
problem is that I am unsure as to where to begin! I have to be honest in
that I don't have a clue as to what I want my project to be about yet. All
I am sure of is that doing a masters in biology, where I would be looking
at, for example, the oxygen consumption of squirrels during hibernation,
just doesnt have as exciting appeal to me, as say, designing another
Kalundborg, Denmark!!!
If any of you have suggestions as to where I should begin my search for
supervisors and schools, please send them my way. Perhaps share your own
experiences with the search after you completed your respective undergrad
degrees. I am in no way restricting my search to Canada (where I attend
University of British Columbia), nor Australia (where i'm currently on
exchange in sydney). From my readings, I've learned that places such as
Denmark, The Netherlands, and Germany are quite progressive in this field.
ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Yours sincerely,
Wendy
