Studentships at the University of Brighton
A number of post-graduate studentships are being advertised in the School of
the Environment at the University of Brighton. One is linked with the
School of Applied Social Science and is of potential interest to social
policy students.
Topic: Urban regeneration, community development and social exclusion in
coastal towns.
Outline: A comparative study of large towns and coastal resorts is proposed.
Brighton will be one of a small number of carefully selected case studies
used to assess the process of community involvement and outcomes in urban
regeneration in a wider context. This project will draw on theories and
methods from human geography, social policy and urban studies. Applicants
should have an upper second class honours degree in geography or relevant
social science.
