Populations at Risk 3: Social exclusion, policy and practice
Population Geography Research Group.
A half day session on the broad theme of populations at risk of
social exclusion, issues for policy and practice will be held at
the RGS-IBG conference in January 2001. It is hoped that the
session will include a range of papers concerning different
populations at risk of social exclusion within the UK. Such
populations might include disaffected young people, refugees,
disabled people or marginalised communities. Given recent calls
for geography to be of practical relevance for public policy,
this session will provide a forum for papers which have a
particular emphasis on policy and practice. We also particularly
welcome papers which adopt a multi-disciplinary approach.
