I am interested to know if anyone has done an extended (or even short) study
on the energy consumption of various types of vending machine.
We have a new sports facility with a large number of hot / cold drinks and
food vending machines installed.
A log of the electricity demand at the site shows a significantly higher
than expected base load during the night and I suspect it is being caused by
said equipment. I have eliminated many other potential causes.
Inspection of the nameplate rating shows some use up to 2kW, although I
suspect this is only for short periods of time and that the average is
somewhat less.
I am just about to institute a monitoring program myself but wonder if
anyone has already done so?
If not the results of my study will be available in the fullness of time!
