PROJECT 1 Spatial Localisation in Visual Impairment
Supported by Guide Dogs for the Blind Association
3-year studentship for a qualified (need not be UK registered)
optometrist, preferably with 2-3 years experience (although not
necessarily in Low Vision). Stipend around stlg15k per year, plus
tuition fees
Starting date: July 2000 or as soon as possible
PROJECT 2 A Randomised Controlled Trial of the Effectiveness of
Prism Spectacles in ARMD
Supported by PPP Healthcare Trust
This project is to be carried out jointly with Manchester Royal Eye
Hospital, and students would be based there for part of their time.
Two posts:
Post 1 3-year studentship for a qualified (need not be UK
registered) optometrist, preferably with 2-3 years experience
(although not necessarily in Low Vision). Stipend around stlg15k per
year, plus tuition fees
Post 2 3-year studentship for a recent/soon-to-be good Honours
graduate in Neuroscience or Psychology. Stipend around stlg12k per year,
plus tuition fees
Starting date: September 2000
