Following the Michael Watson case ruling, the organisers are responsible not
only for ensuring medical cover but APPROPRIATELY TRAINED STAFF are used.
Only case law will prove the definition of appropriately trained. Watson
case has shown that neurosurgeons with no advanced airway skills are not
considered adequate for acute head injuries. I wonder how many sports events
organisers are aware of this.
