Professor and an Assistant Professor position
Central European University (CEU) is looking for candidates for a Professor
and an Assistant Professor position for its Department of Sociology located
in Warsaw - Poland.
CEU is a graduate university with teaching sites in Budapest-Hungary and
Warsaw-Poland, offering master and doctoral programs with English as the
instruction language. The University would like to attract scholars who are
willing to make a long-term commitment to living and working in the Region.
The CEU Department of Sociology will offer three MA Programmes from October
2000: Society and Politics, Economy and Society, and Culture and Society.
All are accredited by Lancaster University (UK). The Department's Ph.D.
Programme is accredited by the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the
Polish Academy of Sciences.
Full-time Professor
The candidate should be a scholar of international reputation with a
research and publication record in Qualitative Methodology and /or History
of Social Thought. The initial appointment is for three years and it is
renewable. (Code: SOC 1)
Full-time junior positions
The candidate should have convincing research accomplishments, a publication
record and teaching experience in Qualitative Methodology and /or History of
Social Thought The initial appointment is for up to three years and it is
renewable. (Code: SOC 2)
All applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants who are
not citizens or permanent residents of Poland will be required to obtain a
work permit. The compensation package is subject to Polish taxation
regulations.
