Archives Advisor for Resource
London, 28 June 2000 -- Justin Frost has been appointed as the Archives
Advisor for Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries.
Currently Head of the Archive Inspection Services Department at the Public
Record Office (PRO), Justin has been seconded for a minimum period of two
years. He will join Resource in mid-September.
Neville Mackay, Chief Executive of Resource, commented: "Developing our
archives agenda is a priority area for Resource. I am delighted that Justin
is joining us to take forward this important area of work."
Justin Frost added: "I am delighted to take up this post. Like museums and
libraries, archives make a major contribution to creativity, lifelong
learning and economic development. This role presents an exciting
opportunity to develop their profile further."
Justin joined the Public Record Office in 1991 as a Documentation Officer in
the Records Management Department. Following internal promotion he was
appointed to the post of Deputy Archive Inspection Officer in January 1999
and Head of Archive Inspection in April of this year. Recently he has
managed the English Archival Mapping Project and is currently writing the
Phase Two Report which will be completed before Justin joins Resource.

Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries is a new strategic
agency which will work with museums, libraries and archives across the UK.
It replaced the Museums & Galleries Commission and the Library & Information
Commission on 3 April 2000.
