I'm not sure that women will ever be truly free by trying to become more like
men and sacrificing parts of their womanhood in an attempt to gain equality.
Equality unfortunately seems to have replaced liberation as 'the' feminist
goal. The freedom to be different yet equal would seem to be more desirable
to me. Eggs and chocolate are very different, but they are both tasty alone
and in combination!
I do agree that child-bearing has been used, and is still used, to control
women, but although society may lay the guilt trip on us we don't have to buy
into it. There must be alternative ways to regain control/disempower society
other than disowning and diminishing ourselves/other women.
