thanks for your interest, I have sent off another email to answer Julia's
questions which will probably answer yours.
No it isn't a criteria for membership ............ yet ! The registration
board supports the concept of MCPD and who knows what it the future. Some of
our special groups have MCPD as a condition of membership - if you do not
keep up your points, the ejection button is activated. We are also
introducing titled membership (as opposed to specialisation) and that
requires a certain standard of educational and clinical attainment as well
as MCPD to retain the "title".
