Following on from Barrys email about the 'Diversifying Learning' workshop
held by CTIAD and GLAD at the Open Learning Foundation, May 1999. I
thought you might be interested to know that the LTSN Subject Centre 20:
Art, Design and Communication has now replaced CTIAD [Computers in
Teaching Initiative]. The new Subject Centre will deal with all aspects of
learning and teaching, not just those involving the use of IT, and the
subject range of some centre is wider than before. The Learning and
Teaching Support Network (LTSN), intended to promote high quality
teaching, learning and assessment within subject communities collate and
promote information on good practices of learning and teaching;
The consortium chosen to run Subject Centre 20 consists of the University
of Brighton, Coventry University, the University of Dundee, Ulster
University and the Group for Learning in Art and Design (GLAD). The Centre
is located at the University of Brighton, and will be supported by a
further network of delivery partners - Cumbria College of Art & Design,
Falmouth College of the Arts, Plymouth University, Surrey Institute of Art
& Design and Swansea Institute - to assist regional coverage.
I have been appointed as the Project Leader in C& IT in the ADC-LTSN and I
am in the process of organising a series of regional workshops on this
very topic. If you would like further information about these workshops or
if you would like a copy of the report that I have written about the
Diversifying workshop please contact me at the address below,
Thanks, Sue
