I (and the librarian and academic hematologist I have enlisted in the cause) have searched Medline and textbooks and am unable to find either prevalences for the potential causes for incidentally identified anemia in outpatients or the operating characteristics of the tests used to estimate their likelihood--aside from Guyatt's work on ferritin.
I would be grateful if any one can point me to such information.
