Just to reinforce Patrick Overy's email - the directive is effectively
adopted and will be soon published in the OJ L.
Please note the relevent section contained in Press Release IP/00/442, 5 May
2000
As the Parliament decided not to propose any amendments to the Common
Position adopted formally by the Internal Market Council in February 2000,
the Directive is now definitively adopted in accordance with the co-decision
procedure laid down by Article 251 of the EC Treaty and no further
consideration by Council is necessary. Member States will have 18 months in
which to implement the Directive into national law following its publication
in the EU's Official Journal (expected shortly).
