I just want to say publicly that this is wonderful, wonderful news. I often
don't agree with him, but Colin has been a key player in the development of
disability studies of the last two decades and this recognition is richly
deserved. I don't think he'll mind me saying that this is especially so
when he has resolutely refused to join the culture of snobbery and elitism
that exists in academia.
Well done Colin!
