Paul,
It is an interesting argument that western governmnets have consistently
exploited their dominant positions following the defeat of the Nazi regime
after WWII. However I do not think that anyone could seriously contend that
our forbears had anything less than valiant intentions when going off to
war.
In our 'free' 'liberal' world one has to acknowledge that most of us have no
real idea of the harsh brutalities of war itself, other than what makes
'good TV', but this should not give us the right to belittle that
experience, or their sacrifices.
It is one thing to be critical, but quite another to engage in the flippant
attention-seeking shown in your posting(s);
'They deserve no honour and no memorial' this is quite clearly WRONG.
