INSIDE: An Institutionally Secure Integrated Data Environment
This 2 year post, JISC funded, is available in the School of Computer Science
to work on the design and implementation of a secure, integrated web-based
information service for computer users at the University of St Andrews.
You will help develop a model of distributed functionality between Departmental
and Central systems, and investigate appropriate abstractions
and mechanisms for secure interoperability. The project team includes
senior members of the University's administration and experienced software
engineering researchers based in the Computer Science departments at
St Andrews and Durham.
Applicants should be well qualified in Computer Science or a
related discipline. The post will suit someone with a strong interest
in XML, open standards based interoperability, web engineering and
security in distributed systems. Good systems programming skills
are highly desirable. Familiarity with RDBMS would be advantageous.
