Flutter.com has been described as one of the most exciting internet
startups in Europe.  Based in Clerkenwell (London) with an office in San
Francisco, it provides a fun, challenging and fast-paced environment.  We
are currently looking for several people within the product design team:

Usability Manager

The Usability Manager will be responsible for setting up and running the
usability testing lab, defining usability processes and style guides,
representing the user experience at a senior level and ensuring that
products meet the highest usability standards as well as providing a fun and
compelling experience.  The candidate will be expected to work across
several multidisciplinary product development teams and to manage a team of
usability engineers, and will be responsible for prioritizing and
coordinating large and small scale tests across a wide range of products.

- 2+ years experience with design and testing of Web sites and internet
products
- 2+ years experience with consumer research
- 7+ years experience in usability testing and user interface design
- Masters degree or higher in Ergonomics, HCI, Psychology, Human Factors or
related discipline

Usability Engineer

The usability engineer will be responsible for representing the user
experience in a product development team, working closely with user
interface designers, web developers, product managers and graphic artists.
The candidate will be responsible for the whole usability cycle:
indentifying potential trouble spots, designing user tests, creating test
scripts and scenarios, recruiting users, conducting tests, evaluating
results and making redesign recommendations.  Furthermore, the candidate
will be expected to champion user interface design principles during the
product development cycle, from early concept creation through to
implementation and launch.

- Masters degree in Ergonomics, HCI, Psychology, Human Factors or related
discipline
- 1+ years experience in a usability testing role, Web testing experience
preferred
- Knowledge of HTML, cross-browser and cross-platform issues, download time
constraints and other web usability issues
- Hands-on experience with the whole user testing cycle
- Demonstrated ability to capture user requirements and turn usability
problems into successful product redesigns

Senior User Interface Designer

The senior user interface designer is an experienced and successful designer
of software interfaces, preferably for Web-based products, regularly
participating in usability testing and consumer research: designing tests,
conducting them, analyzing results.  The candidate will take primary
responsibility for designing and maintaining the user interface for a number
of Web-based products, working in several multidisciplinary product
development teams.  In addition, the candidate will work with rapid
prototyping teams to develop novel product ideas and interfaces for new
platforms (e.g., WAP, interactive TV).

- Experienced with rapid prototyping methods and tools including Director,
Dreamweaver.
- Experienced with early stage usability testing and market research, e.g.,
Wizard-of-Oz, paper prototypes, disposable camera studies, storyboarding.
- Knowledgeable about internet technologies including HTML, HTTP, SQL, Java,
Flash
- Strong track record of innovation
- Evidence of successful interface designs for a variety of platforms, e.g.,
Windows, Web, mobile phone/SMS/WAP, PDAs, interactive TV/Web TV.
- Background in human factors, HCI/computer science, psychology, engineering
product design or related discipline.
- Masters degree or higher.


Technical Writer

The technical writer will have responsibility for creating and maintaining
HTML content on our Web site including help screens, tutorials and
frequently asked questions.  Participating in several multidisciplinary
product development teams, the technical writer will also create site copy
and tutorial content for new features and products.  The candidate will be
required to liase with usability engineers, product managers and brand
managers to ensure that both user and brand needs are met, and with the
content director to ensure a consistent tone across the site.

- Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise copy, with attention to
detail
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years technical authoring, on-line experience essential
- 1+ years HTML authoring
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
