CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Tokyo, JAPAN July 9-13, 2001
Waseda University Conference Centre, Shinjuku
We are pleased to announce that the eighth IFIP TC.13 INTERACT
conference will be held in Japan in 2001. You are cordially welcome to
participate in this conference, the world leading international
conference on Human-Computer Interaction.
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is about theories, methods and tools
that relate to the design, development, evaluation and use of
human-oriented computer-based systems; and that enhance and support
human work and activity, especially in terms of reliability,
usability, acceptability and user satisfaction.
This is the first time that INTERACT will be held in the Asian region.
There will be more chances than ever before that research and
development activities in Western countries will meet with those in
Eastern countries. Many people from the Asia Pacific region, as well
as from Europe, America and other regions of the world, are expected
to participate in the conference making it a truly world-wide HCI
conference.
INTERACT 2001 will bring together HCI researchers, developers
and practitioners from many fields and disciplines. The conference
will provide various ways to participate, including technical and
short papers, posters, tutorials, workshops, panels, interactive
experience, laboratory and organisational overviews, as well as a
doctoral consortium for students undertaking Ph.D studies.
The conference will be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, where you
will meet the traditional Japan and the modern Japan. The conference
site, Waseda University, is located in the heart of Tokyo, giving easy
access to hotels, shopping areas, historical places and more.
Transportation in Tokyo includes trains, subways, buses and taxis.
Although there is a myth that Japan is an expensive country, you can
find inexpensive hotels (of course, you can find expensive and deluxe
hotels if you wish), convenience shops, and inexpensive restaurants.
You can enjoy a variety of restaurants serving Japanese, French,
Italian, American, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian,
Indonesian food and much more, at a reasonable price.
So why not enjoy the conference and your stay in Tokyo? We are
earnestly waiting for your submission.
