European Programmes Officer, Administrative Grade 2, full-time (REF:
337)
Applications are invited for the post of European Programmes Officer in
the International & Study Abroad Office to start as soon as possible.
The Office deals with the recruitment and welfare of international
students, and with the administration of the University's student
exchanges.
The main duties of the post involve: development and maintenance of the
University's European exchanges; supporting the European student
recruitment strategy; promotion and development of European Education
and Training Programmes (e.g., SOCRATES, TEMPUS); liaising with Sussex's
European partners; management of the European exchanges budgets and
European grants; management of the European Programmes section of the
Office.
The successful candidate is likely to be educated to degree-level or
equivalent, be familiar with the UK HE sector and European funding
programmes for education and training, have an aptitude for marketing
and promotion, good administrative and management skills, excellent
interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, and be
willing to undertake overseas travel. Experience of working with
international students, knowledge of other European education systems
and languages, and experience of study abroad as part of a degree would
be an advantage.
Salary will be on the Administrative Scale, Grade 2, in the range
18,915 - £24,479.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 7 June 2000. Interviews will
be held on 3 July 2000.
