I often wonder at the number of graduates from design schools. Someone
suggested that there are currently 200,000 design students in Europe. I am
not sure if this is correct. We have design institutions such as the Royal
College of Art which has been a center of quality education for over 150
years. Yet good foundation texts on design are still almost non existent. We
still look back at the Bauhaus in the same way that Europeans remembered the
glorious days of Classical Rome during the Dark Ages.
The Internet seems to be the best thing that has ever happened help the
struggling field forward.
