Dear members of the women-and-social-policy mailing list,
Firstly, I would like to inform you about our successful study day which
was held at the LSE on the 4th of March 2000.
The programme was as follows:
Elisbetta Ruspini, University of Padua
The Dynamics of Women's Poverty: an international perspective.
Sigrid Leitner, University of Goettingen
Old Age (In)Security: Why women are at risk
Discussion of the two papers
Jill Radford, University of Newcastle
Women's Experience of Domestic Violence: Comparing the legal position
Arthur Gould, University of Loughborough
Punishing the Punter: the politics of prostitution in Sweden
Discussion of afternoon sessions
Outlook to the Annual SPA conference 2000.
The discussions were very lively.
Special thanks goes to Jay Ginn for organising this study day!
Secondly, I would like to raise the issue of the women-and-social-policy
session at this years' annual SPA conference.
I was wondering whether it would make sense to have more of a programme
for the session than we had last year and what ideas people have as to
what should be talked about in the session.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Tina Haux
