it stands for national collegiate athletic association, it's a governing
body for college athletics, they have a site
http://www.ncaa.org/
The sports Injury Surveillance System is used to gather information
about injury incidence in college athletics. As an athletic trainer,
dealing with all the injuries and rehab for the athletes, we would keep
the info on their injuries, and provide the statistical/demographic info
on the injuries to NCAA. Not continuously, but certain schools would be
requested to participate, it helps identify injury trends, etc.
