IN ENGLAND

Salary: £22,579 - £30,065 (II); £16,286 - £24,479 (IA)

Health Action Zones in England are at the forefront of attempts to
modernise services and to reduce health inequalities. Learning about
them is a challenging and exciting part of the process of tackling
social exclusion in the UK.
The national evaluation of Health Action Zones comprises a multi-site
collaboration, but the central team is in the process of relocating to
the University of Glasgow. A number of vacancies for research staff have
now arisen for people with experience and qualifications in public
health, health promotion or social policy who can contribute to a broad
range of skills in both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Applications are invited for up to 5 fixed term posts of not less than
two years in the first instance, to start as soon as possible and to end
not later than 31 December 2002.
