To all UK researchers and postgraduate students
This is a final call for titles from researchers intending to come to
the UK Down Syndrome Research Meeting at the Sarah Duffen Centre,
Portmsouth on the 11th and 12th May.
Please send your title in to Jo Nye ([log in to unmask]) by Friday
28th April, so we can put the final programme together. Please also
let me know if you are planning to attend with colleagues but not
presenting yourself to help planning facilities and catering.
Please indicate if you would like to be sent an accommodation list.
If you have already sent in your title thank you for doing so, we will
send out final details of the programme as soon as we can after this
date.
The original call for submissions and details of the meeting are
below.
Regards, Jo Nye

You are cordially invited to the next meeting of the UK Down Syndrome
Research Forum to be held at The Sarah Duffen Centre on 11th and 12th
May, with the support of The Down Syndrome Educational Trust.
The meeting will start at 10.30 on 11th May and finish at 3 pm on 12th
May (these times can be adjusted to suit participants). The Forum is a
friendly support group for those working in the area of Down syndrome
research. The format , for those new to the Forum, is informal
presentations of work in progress by those attending. The group really
are very helpful to one another and shared work or useful advice on
how to take a project forward have been outcomes from earlier
meetings. The Trust will provide buffet lunches on both days and there
is no fee for attending. We can advise on bed and breakfast
accommodation at reasonable prices but at present the Trust is not
able to subsidise travel or accommodation costs, though we would like
to be able to and may be able to in the future.
If you plan to attend, please let Jo know as soon as possible, with
the title of any presentation that you wish to make and we will then
put a programme together.
You may also like to know that we are planning to hold the 3rd
International Conference on Language and Cognition in Down Syndrome
from 6th to 8th September in Portsmouth. I am just waiting for
confirmation from keynote speakers before final publication of the
dates.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in May and in
September,
Sue
