Malcolm Shifrin writes:
"While, as a retired librarian, I naturally welcome the suggestion
that Tables of Contents should be disseminated as widely as possible,
I would argue that this should be in addition to, not in place of, the
inclusion of those from such as_Local history magazine_ in specific
interest-based mailing lists like ours."
[etc.]
As another retired librarian, I agree with all his comments. At the
risk (I hope not) of overloading the list, perhaps I could also
mention that the august-sounding Society of Antiquaries of Newcastle
upon Tyne has a website: http://museums.ncl.ac.uk/socantiqs/
This website now includes contents pages of all the issues of the 5th
series of the society's journal, Archaeologia Aeliana, from volume 1
(1973) to date. URL:
http://museums.ncl.ac.uk/socantiqs/aaframes/frameset.htm
I hope people don't mind me "advertising" this fact. I hope people
can view this kind of advert as useful (as opposed to someone flogging
the local history equivalent of double-glazing [what would that be, I
wonder? :-) ]).
