The collection of articles by Sciascia, Ore si Spagna
(1988) contains a lot of material on the Spanish Civil War.
I don't know whether this has been translated into English
yet, but now might be the time.... Elio Vttorini's 1948
Preface to Il garofano rosso (eg. Section VIII) and his
comments on his Erica e i suoi fratelli (in letter to
Moravia and Carocci) contain important clues for
Conversazione in Sicilia. Vitaliano Brancati (eg. Il
bell'Antonio) touches on S. C. W. but obliquely.
