Greetings:
At the Dublin Core Education Working Group meeting at Kattemingga in
February, there was general agreement that the proposed DC.Type vocabulary
is inadequate to meet the need for domain specificity while still
maintaining the maximum degree of interoperability.
It was proposed that an interested group of participants collate an
extensive list of education-focused resource types either currently in use
or under development. Subsequent efforts will destill an acceptable
minimum set of potential interoperability values from the larger listing.
(See http://www.ischool.washington.edu/sasutton/dc-ed-f2f/Types.html)
At the following url is a list of resource type vocabularies compiled by
Jon Mason of EdNA, with the assistance of several DC-ED participants:
http://www.ischool.washington.edu/sasutton/dc-ed/type/Resource_Type_Vocabulary.html
Is the list at the above url complete? Are there any additional terms
that should be added? Let's discuss and collect terms with their
definitions through May 15.
After May 15, we can begin to destill this list to a smaller, more concise
one.
Thanks -
Nancy
