Stirling ... ancient Scottish royal capital ... scene of epic victories...
and home to the University of Stirling, Europe's most picturesque university
campus. Set among 360 acres of parkland estate, the rolling hills, wide
loch, and abundance of flora and fauna all combine to make Stirling a truly
unique campus location. Take an early morning stroll round Loch Airthrey (
our own private loch); watch the rabbits, squirrels and ducks ramble
undisturbed under the shadow of the world famous Wallace Monument, a
towering tribute to Braveheart, Sir William Wallace ... then remind yourself
that you are less than 45 minutes away from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The
University of Stirling offers an abundance of leisure opportunities on
campus. Immerse yourself in our 25 metre swimming pool, get in the swing
on our 9 hole golf course or let off steam in the sauna. The University of
Stirling offers a superb range of accommodation from the top of the range
hotel accommodation of the Stirling Management Centre right through to basic
study bedrooms. The University is also the home of the MacRobert Arts
Centre. The MacRobert Theatre in particular has a well deserved reputation
for presenting 'cutting edge' programmes of drama, music and dance, as well
as showing major films.
Off campus, the ' Scottish Heartlands' offer some of the most popular
tourist attractions in the land - Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument,
Loch Lomond, the Highlands, Glasgow and Edinburgh are all within easy reach.
Post- conference tourist options will be available for prior booking.
