Positions open in plant molecular biology and bioinformatics in
Helsinki
A Plant Molecular Biology group of 11 scientists (oxidative stress in
plants), located a the University of Helsinki, Institute of
Biotechnology, is looking for three scientists for following topics:
1) The role of ethylene in plant oxidative stress sensitivity, and
increasing the tolerance of tomato to oxidative stress (appoinment
for 2 years)
2) EST libraries and genomics of abiotic stresses in trees
(appoinment for 2-3 years)
3) Bioinformatics of ESTs and genomic aproach in abotic stresses in
trees (appoinment for 2-3 years)
All the topics are suitable for either a post doc, or a graduate
student. Topic 1 requires knowledge and experience in plant biology
and molecular biology. Topic 2 requires strong experience in
molecular biology methodology and topic 3 requires basic knowledge
of (plant)biology and experience and interest in bioinformatics and
related information technology.
Appoinments are for 2-3 years, beginning in June 2000 or as agreed.
