Three Year Contract Positions in Archaeology & History
The advertising of these two posts has been approved by the Governing
Authority of the National University of Ireland, Galway to provide
core teaching for the recently announced B.A. programme to be
offered in Ennis, County Clare by NUI, Galway, from September 2000.
The stipend for each post will be within the range of £23,000 - 25,000 per
annum.
The person appointed to the post in History will be principally concerned
with the development and the delivery of the History element of the course
in Ennis, but will also have duties within the Department of History at NUI,
Galway. The successful candidate should hold, or be close to completing, the
Ph.D. degree in History, and would ideally have relevant teaching
experience, especially of teaching History to adults.
The person appointed in Archaeology will have primary responsibility
for the teaching and course management of this component of the
programme. A broad knowledge of Irish archaeology and experience in
teaching Archaeology to adults is desirable.
