Hi Anton,
A pulse of 56 is quite a common finding in patients on atenolol, and
unlikely to be pathological in the absence of other features such as low BP
etc. Having said that, if associated with episodes of loc, or near fainting,
it could be due to a relative intolerance of this PR.
Constitutional symptoms of feeling generally unwell with fatigue, low
energy, poor exercise tolerance are certainly listed side effects, and a
common reason for discontinuation of the drug.
