I am interested to hear other people's thoughts on SimpliRED - we are
considering moving to the VIDUS ELISA test which is a rapid ELISA test -
takes about 35 minutes partly because we have not really benefitted from the
speed of the SimpliRED test. What I think is important is you look at the
published data for you particular test - all 'lab' based tests are a
particular make and you should find out what it is and then check out the
literature for that particular test. The justification for using SimpliRED
for us was, although we chose to have it performed in the lab, it was quick
for them to do and there is a reasonable body of literature on it - see the
guidelines. Our lab was very stretched. We have never encourage people to
use the test in isolation. Our exploration of moving to the VIDUS test is-
it turns out microbiology already have the analyser and there is good
largely European literature on it. Watch this space
