Local experience has also shown the sensitivity to be less than 80% for the
SimpliRED test, our local lab based d-dimers have a higher sensitivity. (I
don't know which specific assay for FDP's are used in the lab).

The Feb 2000 Annals of Emergency Medicine has a study looking specificly at
the simpliREd test and found a relatively low sensitivity in both PE and
DVT, dont have the article in front of me, but think it was in the low 80's
not the high 90's as claimed in the manufactuers info.
