The Rehabilitation Sciences Research Group at the University of
Ulster wishes to recruit a Senior Research Fellow and Research
Officer in support of a new research project on the rehabilitation
of Multiple Sclerosis. The posts are funded by a grant from the
Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
and will be based at the Jordanstown campus.
Senior Research Fellow (Ref: J00/033)
The post is tenable for five years in the first instance and will
be 100% research for this time period; it is intended that, based
upon satisfactory performance, this will become a permanent post
fully funded by the University. The maintenance of a record of
successful grant application and publications in high quality
refereed journals will be used as performance indicators in each
year. During the final year, an assessment of achievement will
occur and should performance equate to that of Reader within the
School, a permanent appointment at Reader level will be offered.
The individual will be required to actively develop and lead this
new research area working with a newly appointed Research Officer
and other members of the Research Group.
Applicants must have at least a 2:1 honours degree and a research
doctorate in a health sciences related area and have at least 4
years postdoctoral experience of research relevant to Multiple
Sclerosis or Neurological Rehabilitation. They must have a record
of publications and be eligible for inclusion in the 2001 RAE.
They must have experience of team leadership, successful grant
applications and supervision of postgraduate research students at
doctoral level.
Salary: £28,478 - £35,670
Research Officer (Ref: J00/034)
The individual will be required to support and develop this new
research area working with the newly appointed Research Fellow and
other members of the Research Group. The post is for three years.
Applicants must have at least 2:1 honours degree in a health
related area and have a research doctorate or such degree nearing
completion.
Salary: £16,286 - £24,479
